Nathan Eagle | Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer   

As one of the world’s foremost experts on mobile phones in emerging markets, Dr. Nathan Eagle brings many years of experience to his position leading Jana.

Dr. Eagle graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, a master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering, and a master’s in Electrical Engineering. His Ph.D. from the MIT Media Laboratory on Reality Mining was declared one of the ’10 technologies most likely to change the way we live’ by the MIT Technology Review.


Benjamin Olding | Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer   

Dr. Ben Olding leads the Jana technical team.  He is responsible for the integrity and validity of all data gathered by the Jana platform.

Dr. Olding most recently served as a Research Fellow at Harvard’s School of Engineering and UC Berkeley’s Department of Statistics. Previously he completed a Ph.D. in Statistics from Harvard University. His research and thesis focused on approximate inference, the science of making decisions in the context of overwhelming amounts of data and limited computational resources.  He has been granted several patents related to data and inference.


Mike Putnam | Vice President, Product

Mike Putnam leads product for Jana.  Prior to joining Jana, he led mobile and tablet product for TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website.  At TripAdvisor, Mike launched a mobile website as well as apps for iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Windows Phone and Symbian, reaching the 10 million download milestone after only 15 months.  Mike’s earlier experience includes running his own startup, solutions marketing for Markem-Imaje, interning at Amazon.com and working as an eCommerce analyst at Forrester Research.

Mike holds a BS from Stanford, an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.


Sheela Subramanian | Director of Business Development

Sheela Subramanian is Jana’s Director of Business Development. She leads initiatives related to the monetization of Jana’s Marketing and Research products. Prior to joining Jana, Sheela spent five years at Google, where she drove marketing and strategy for a range of products, including Google Advertising, YouTube, Toolbar, and Book Search. Most notably, she co-founded Google’s Global Market Development (GMD) team, an organization which grew into a $100M revenue generating organization dedicated to serving Google’s top global customers.

Sheela holds a MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Political Science from Stanford University. She is passionate about public service, international politics, and traveling.


Jasen Holness | Global Research Sales  

Jasen Holness leads Jana’s market research team and is responsible for building and growing Jana’s market research customer relationships. He brings to Jana 18 years of client development and data operations management, with extensive experience in the design and operational components of market research data collection. Jasen has previously worked for GfK, Harris Interactive, Wilcher Research Group and MarketTools.

Jasen holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Southampton College.
